Senior Pastor Mike Plunket

Rev. Michael Plunket is the Senior Pastor of Risen King Alliance Church. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Pastoral Ministry Dept. at Nyack College in Nyack, NY. Mike earned his M.Div at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Since his ordination in 1986, Mike has organized, helped start and pastored five churches in Mexico City, Mexico, and Atlanta, GA. Mike is married to Lisa, and they have two children, Joseph and Anna.

Executive Pastor – Steve Phillips

Steve was born in Akron, Ohio and is married to Jacqueline Phillips.  He graduated with his bachelor's in Pastoral Ministry & Psychology from Nyack College in 2004.  Steve also has his Masters in Business Administration from Nyack.  Steve works full-time as an administrator in the Office of Student Financial Services at Nyack College. His role at Risen King includes managing staff, men's discipleship, and structuring Sunday Morning Worship services.  He also works with Pastor Mike and the College of Prayer in New York and Uganda.

Director of Women & Growth Groups - Lisa Plunket

Lisa was born in Owensboro KY and is married to Mike Plunket. Lisa attended Western Ky Univ. and majored in NT Studies and History. She have been mentoring women and teaching Bible studies since she was 19. "Prayer and mentoring women has always been my primary ministry. Learning to pray has been one of the things that has most changed my life and it has opened doors for me all over the world." Lisa is responsible for Women's Ministry and Growth Groups at Risen King. Her hobbies are painting, reading, and interior design. I also love to travel.

Administrative Assistant – Alicia Moroney

Alicia was born in Massachusetts, grew up in Gabon, Africa, went to college in New York, and holidays in Maine. She graduated from Nyack College with my BS degree in Interdisciplinary studies: Psychology and Pastoral Ministry and is currently attending the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in Nyack, NY. Alicia met her husband, Matt, in college and was recently married in June 2007. Soccer, photography, creative arts and just being outdoors are some of her favorite pastimes. Alicia is the Administrative Assistant at Risen King and her responsibilities include: creative design of the church's publications, scheduling Pastor Mike's appointments and other administrative duties.

Director of Children’s Ministry Central Campus – Pauline Chan

Pauline is the Director of Children’s Ministry at Risen King. She received a B.A. in sociology from BrandeisUniversity and a M.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania.  Pauline has taught in public schools in Pennsylvania and in New York for five years.  She has been married to her husband, Frank, for ten years and is a mother of four children, ages eight, six, four and two.  She enjoys volunteering for school activities, painting and doing other arts projects.

Youth Pastor – Ryan Alexander

Ryan grew up on Long Island where he developed a passion for surfing.  As a teenager, his life was deeply impacted by his youth pastor and he seeks to make that same impact on the youth of Risen King.  He is married to Kara and together make a dynamic ministry team.  If you are looking to have a good time, the Alexander’s are the people you want to be around.

Worship Pastor Central Campus – Gabe Tringale

Gabe was born and raised in Northern Kentucky (Cincinnati, OH area). He has served in Grenada, West Indies as a missionary for two years right after high school. While there I found myself preaching, teaching (in schools and churches), cleaning, painting, building, and - leading worship. After Grenada, he went to Nyack College and graduated in 2007 with a BA in English. He met his wife Ashley at Nyack and got married in May 2007.  Gabe says "she's my best friend and partner in ministry." He has led worship for almost 10 years and is passionate about leading God's people into His presence. Gabe also teaches 8th grade in Newark Public Schools in Newark, NJ and serves as thehead coach of the 8th grade baseball team.

South Campus Pastor – Jonathan Thornton

Jonathan was born into a missionary family and had the opportunity to grow up all over the world.  He spent the first seven years in Hong Kong.  Jonathan and his two brothers went to Black Forest Academy (BFA), a missionary boarding school in Germany , when his parents moved to Russia.  Jonathan stayed at BFA all throughout elementary and high school. While at BFA, his parents served in Russia, Germany, Bosnia, and Macedonia.  Jonathan went to Nyack College and graduated with a Pastoral Ministries major and also recently completed his masters in intercultural studies at Alliance Theological Seminary. He is really excited to be a part of God’s new work in Tappan through Risen King.  His is married to Erika and they have a beautiful baby daughter named Olivia.

Worship Pastor South Campus – Tim Conway

Tim is a 2008 graduate of Nyack College, and is employed by HSBC bank in Pearl River. He Grew up as a pastors kid, and excelled in soccer throughout high school and college. His passion for worship began in his early teen years. He has led worship for small groups, mission trips, and Sunday services. Tim is engaged to his fiancé Danielle and they are planning a wedding for July 2010.

Children's Pastor South Campus – Paul Garcia

Paul Garcia serves as the Children's Pastor for Risen King Alliance South.  He was born in Bogota, Colombia but also grew up in Texas and Ecuador.  He served in the Marine Corps for four years before moving to Nyack with his wife Heather to go to Nyack College.  He graduated from Nyack College with a BA in Biblical & Theological Studies and and a BA in Philosophy in May 2006.  He loves playing guitar and the drums.  He is the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan in the Northeast, and the second biggest Texas Tech fan in the Northeast. He and his wife Heather, who is awesome, have a son, Isaac, who is the cutest little baby boy in the world and is also awesome, and are expecting their 2nd son in April

Outreach Pastor – Matt Moroney

Matt was born in New York and attended Nyack College. He married his wife, Alicia in June 2007 and currently works in Student Financial Services at Nyack College. He also serves as the Outreach Pastor at Risen King Alliance Church.  His passions include hunting, fishing, camping, and pretty any other outdoor activities.

Church Assistant – Melissa Longley

Melissa was born and raised in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and moved to New York to attend Nyack College. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. She currently works for Africa Inland Mission, Int'l.  "At Risen King I pretty much fill in wherever help is needed, but some of my duties include running the Information Desk & helping Lisa with adminstrative things."  Some day Melissa would love to live in Africa, but is open to wherever the Lord leads!  She enjoys traveling, being with family and friends, watching movies, anything with music and sleeping!

Assistant Director of Women & Small Groups – Julie Bashioum

Julie is a graduate of Nyack College and has her nursing degree from Duke University.  She works full-time as a nurse at Nyack Hospital.  She is doing her home service for missions at Risen King as she prepares to be a missionary in China.  If its college basketball season and Duke is playing, don’t expect to see her at church.

Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry – Erin Cook

Erin grew up in Ohio and received her undergrad degree there at Bowling Green State University in Piano Performance (1999).  After graduating and exploring many options (missions, social work, teaching), she moved to New York in 2004 to pursue a Master of Divinity Degree at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY and graduated in May '08.  Erin has a heart for intercession, prayer and the Children’s ministry at Risen King.
